Reflection for EDET WEEK 1

Reflection for EDET WEEK 1

Goal:

"To have a thorough reflection of week 1 sessions based from homework and in-class activities."

Week 1: Gmail and Hotmail

What is a gmail:

Gmail is a free, search-based email (Web mail) service, which is accessible from a web browser anywhere in the world so long as an internet connection is present.
Task: Create Gmail and Hotmail Accounts.

Gmail with contacts and group contact list

What is Hotmail?
Hotmail is one of the most popular free online email services, provided by Microsoft.

Steps:  Complete the form by going to gmail set up.

  •   Sign in to  Hotmail account.
  •   Create contact list by selecting contact and adding email address and other information               of each classmate.
  •   Go to new or add and add other names.
  •   Create contact groups by adding each email account for hot-mail and gmail.
  •   After creating the group, send a definition of learning to the group.

The challenges I faced while completing the tasks are:

1.  I was unable to connect to hot-mail so I had to go through the outlook account set up.
2.  It was a bit difficult setting up the contact list in hot-mail because the account name was to be            created and then import the names into the account.
3.  The cellphone was unable to register the account so I was forced to complete the assignment om          the computer.

What was learnt.
During week one, I learnt some key measures in utilizing the computer some of which includes creating a contact list and account.  I also learnt that doing this is effective in order to share information with members of the group

How I will use this in the class room:  Using Hotmail is a way to allow teachers to access their work easily.
